Governor Mbah Approves Appointment of Commissioner-Nominees, New Head of Service

The Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has approved the appointment of six individuals as Commissioner-nominees in a significant move to strengthen the state’s executive cabinet.

Those nominated include:

Engr. Benjamin Osita Okoh

Prof. Benedeth Ekwutosi Okoli

Eyinna Franklin Ogbonna

Dr. Samuel Ogbu-Nwobodo

Prof. George Ugwu

Ben Collins Ndu Jr.


The list of nominees has been officially forwarded to the Enugu State House of Assembly for legislative screening and confirmation, in line with constitutional procedures.

In a related development, Governor Mbah has also approved the appointment of Dr. Godwin Anigbo, mni, as the new Head of Service for Enugu State. According to the official announcement, this appointment takes effect immediately.

The statement was signed by Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, Secretary to the State Government, and released on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
