  The Enugu North Senatorial Zone Traditional Rulers Council has declared its position on its preferred governorship candidate in Enugu State ahead of the March 2023 general elections.  Declaring this during the presentation of ófó staff, the Igbo symbol of authority and legitimacy, to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Peter Ndubuishi Mbah, on Tuesday at the Adada House, Nsukka, the royal fathers numbering hundreds, said their decision to settle for him was based of his credible antecedent, adding that their decision was final.   Today, August 30, 2022, the convener and leader of Ije Awele Movement, Engr Mike Ogbuekwe together with a few members of the state and local government leadership of Ije Awele Movement paid a courtesy call on the ALGON chairman and LGA chairman of Udenu LGA, Hon.   The Umu-Odenigbo Support Group, a body drawn from the six local government areas in Enugu East senatorial district of Enugu State, yesterday in Enugu capital, pledged their commitment to the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer in the state, Dr. Peter Mbah in the 2023 polls.  This was even as another support group, Friends Initiative, stated their resolve to hit the ground running once the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, lifted the ban on governorship electioneering campaigns in October.  In his opening prayer at the meeting with the Umu-Odenigbo, a Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Udeonu Mathias said he honoured the invitation not because he knew Mbah in person but was compelled by the testimonies he had witnessed through his selfless services and philanthropy to the people at the grassroots. He said Mbah’s name was ringing like a bell when he visited some communities to commission some projects sponsored by the gubernatorial candidate....

  The program was aimed at teaching the youths how to have access to finance and prudent financial management of their agro-businesses.  Facilitating the program, the Head of the Development Finance Office of the CBN, Mr Linus Nwokolo, sensitized the youths on funds available in the Central Bank to fund agribusiness activities and how the funds can be accessed.  The key expected outcome is financial inclusion of Enugu State youths in the programs of the Central Bank of Nigeria. I appealed for a closer partnership between the CBN and the youths of Enugu State for a smooth and seamless participation in all funding programs of the CBN. The South East Zonal Manager of the Nigeria Agriculture Insurance Company, Mr Thomas Onah, was there too to lend his voice to need for financial inclusion of youths from Enugu State.

The Enugu State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has called on aggrieved members of the party to sheathe their swords and work for the progress of the party ahead of the general elections slated for February and March 2023. Mbah who made this call over the weekend at Amagunze, Nkanu East local government headquarters, during the statutory monthly meeting of the PDP held at the party office, further enjoined supporters of the party to see themselves as shareholders in the affairs of the party by reaching to aggrieved members and non-party members.
