The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Awgu Local Government Area held its monthly meeting at the Awgu LGA Council Secretariat with a strong turnout of party faithful and notable political stakeholders. The meeting served as a strategic platform to assess the party’s performance, strengthen its base, and reiterate commitment to unity and inclusive governance across the LGA.
Chairman of PDP in Awgu LGA, Hon. Kenechukwu Okolo, in his opening address, commended members for their unwavering loyalty and consistent participation in party activities. He emphasized the importance of maintaining internal cohesion, grassroots engagement, and issue-based politics as the party prepares for future political contests.
"We must continue to uphold the ideals of the PDP — unity, accountability, and service to the people. I commend every ward executive and stakeholder for their sacrifices and encourage us all to remain steadfast in building a stronger Awgu," Hon. Okolo stated.
Representing the Executive Chairman of Awgu LGA, Hon. Uchenna Okolo, the Secretary to the Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. Nelson Uduji, delivered a goodwill message, assuring party members of the council's full support for the party’s grassroots activities. He reiterated the commitment of the local government administration to work hand-in-hand with the PDP leadership in delivering democratic dividends to the people.
Also in attendance was Hon. Ndubuisi Fidelis, Chief of Staff to the Awgu Council Chairman, who contributed to discussions on the need for increased youth involvement in politics and better coordination between wards.
From the senatorial level, Hon. Emeka Ude, Chief of Staff to Senator Osita Ngwu, was present and commended the unity within the Awgu PDP structure. He conveyed the senator’s greetings and reiterated his principal’s commitment to supporting the PDP family across all levels, particularly in ensuring federal-level attention to local needs.
A distinguished guest, Hon. Nnamdi Nwafor, Chairman of PDP in Enugu East LGA, also graced the meeting. His presence was received warmly as a symbol of inter-LGA solidarity and cooperation within the party across the state.
The meeting ended with interactive contributions from ward executives, former aspirants, youth leaders, and women representatives, all geared toward strengthening internal structures and preparing for upcoming political engagements. The Awgu PDP monthly meeting continues to stand as a cornerstone for party development, policy alignment, and unity among members in the LGA.
