The people of Mgbowo community and the wider academic, religious, and traditional institutions gathered in solemn unity to pay their final respects to Nze Sir Prof. Anthony Okechukwu Akpa, KSM, whose remarkable life of scholarship, service, and faith left an indelible mark on all who knew him. The burial rites began with a lying-in-state at his mother’s village, Eziobodo Alechara Mgbowo, then proceeded to his father’s compound at Imeama Mgbowo, and finally to his residence at Old Eke Mgbowo Market, Imeama Mgbowo, where friends, family, and associates gathered to view his remains and bid him farewell. From there, the body was taken to St. John’s Catholic Parish, Imeama Mgbowo, where a solemn Requiem Mass was celebrated by six officiating priests.
