"Breaking news! Native doctor, 4 others arrested exhuming human parts in Enugu cemetery"
The above news was stated to have happened in Mmaku community. This is not only a fallacy but a fiction meant to destroy the image and reputation of the entire Mmaku community.
To both the presiding priest of Mmaku catholic centre and parishioners, the fake news was a huge surprise and strange, as such was targeted to deceive the general public.
What happened was one mentally challenged woman from Enugu Afam Mrs Nkeiru Udenwaji nee. anukwuike who married to one Mr Udenwaji in Iyi Mgbowo which marriage was not successful.
The woman died after battling with strange ailment for over fourteen years and her husband refused to bury her. His younger brother Mr. Mercel Anikwuike who lunch the case to Awgu divisional police which the police gave him order to go and bury his late sister corpse. However, this couldn't go down well as the family in Enugu Afam happen to be having land dispute occasioned by polygamy. In bid to bury the woman, some villagers went to catholic cemetery to dig her grave without proper communication and following due process.
Sources from The villagers said that the option of choosing the catholic cemetery was the fact that the village actually gave the land to the church.
There is no element of exhuming human parts for any reason. Anybody can make enquiry.
The intention of those behind this malicious news and fake news was yet unclear as the youths and neighbourhood are making efforts to know the actual reason behind this fake news and those behind it.
The entire public should please disregard this fake news as such did not happen in our town Mmaku.
