ENUGU 2023: Massive endorsement as UK, Ireland G20 Group says Mbah to make Enugu business hub, investment destination

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, a group of professionals based in the United Kingdom and Ireland have pledged allegiance and commitment to support the governorship aspiration of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, stressing that their conviction was borne out of Mbah’s leadership capacity to transform the socio-economic terrain of the state by making it a business hub and investment destination for investors. 

Disclosing that their choice to drum massive support for the PDP governorship flagbearer was as a result of the careful assessment they’d conducted on his integrity, investment precedent, and track records of successes in the private sector, the group, fronted under the auspices of Barr. Peter Mbah Support Group in UK and Ireland, a brainchild of the G20+ Enugu Diaspora Support UK and Ireland, declared that Mbah’s candidacy remains the only toast of the electorate in the state through his development-driven and vibrant manifesto.

While insisting that “No other person can lead Enugu State from a $4.4 billion GDP to $30 billion within eight years anchored on innovation for prosperity of Ndi Enugu where no one is left behind than the people's choice for the Governorship position in Enugu State in the 2023 general elections, Barr Peter Ndubisi Mbah,” the group maintained that it had absolute confidence in Mbah’s leadership dexterity, transformative and innovative abilities, saying “at no time than now is Enugu State going to benefit from a man who both in private and public service has distinguished himself as the most competent manager of wealth and human resources.”

The group, which vowed to do everything within its reach to ensure that the industrialist is sworn-in on May 29, 2023 as the next governor, stated that their primary desire was to see that the mission and vision of ‘Tomorrow is Here’ mandate encapsulated in the robust and excellent manifesto of Mbah are fulfilled for the betterment and welfare of Enugu citizens. 

One of the patrons of the globally renowned professional group, Chief Chris Ozongwu who made some donations on their behalf said: “While not being exhaustive, Barr Peter Mbah Support Group UK & Ireland, a creation of the G20+ has deployed funds to sponsor political support jingles aired in the DREAM FM 92.5 Enugu, FRCN (Coal City 92.9 FM) at 60 minutes twice daily all through the campaign period; and hosted a two-hour programme to discuss the TOMORROW IS HERE Manifesto with Ndi Enugu on the Freedom Square.

“Plans are already in advanced stage to commission many more targeted support programmes as well. However, to amplify our support, with the knowledge that picture communicates more effectively than too many words, we commissioned the production of 34,000 copies of campaign posters, which we have come today to hand over to you our principal, and the incoming Governor of Ndi Enugu state, by the special grace of God.

“This special gift from us to you remains a symbol of our unalloyed support to your mandate, which we know is destined by God. While we may not start now to celebrate your victory, which we know that God will secure and deliver for His people, we assure you that we will continue to work tirelessly till that victory we hope for becomes a reality.”

Responding to the endorsement and support by the body, Mbah expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support both in and outside the country, stressing that the endorsements were signs that the electorate had already bought into the life-changing journey which they had decided to take its ownership. 

He stated that his mission to transform the state, move it from public-service state to private-sector-driven economy which will create millions of jobs for the youth, empower women, trigger massive infrastructural rebirth and Industrialisation, and curb insecurity by making youths productive assets with dormant assets being reactivated through economic zones was driven by selfless commitment and interest to serve humanity.

Mbah, who appreciated the group for its donation reiterated that the state under his leadership will witness unprecedented, exponential growth driven by disruptive innovation, technology and revolutionary ideas.
