The office of the Special advicer to the Executive Governor of Enugu state on Agriculture under the ingenious watch of Hon. Michael Ogbuekwe has remained one of the many arms of Ugwuanyi's administration that have religiously served ndi Enugu with people driven and out of the box democratic dividends. The revamping and packaging of the coal city rice, the discovery and branding of the Nsukka pepper, Enugu Okro, Cashew, Honey and Palm oil stands out as government's efforts that clearly shows the involvement of a novel cerebral character in the Agriculture sector, a clear validation of the popular assertion that Ugwuanyi's second term cabinet is made of technocrats who are ready to deliver.
Most recently, in consonance with Gov. Ugwuanyi's youth empowerment agenda, empowerment beckons on Enugu students as the radar of the SPA on agric moves to illuminate the youth and students constituency. The office of the SPA on Agric is set to partner with the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on an agric empowerment project tagged: YOUTH AGRIBUSINESS HUB.
The YOUTH AGRIBUSINESS HUB is a youth oriented initiative that explores and unveils the spectrum of opportunities in the Agriculture value chain such as:
1. Agric job creation
2. Agric skill development
3. Agric Tech innovation
4. Agric business development
5. Agric Students mentorship
6. Agri marketing.
In a nation where there is an urgent call for youth entrepreneurship, alternative source of national income and exploration of our nation's agricultural potentials, NANS finds this partnership with the Agric sector both strategic and timely. We will continue to work assiduously to ensure total social and financial emancipation of Enugu state students.
