*NANS commends Ugwuanyi over giant strides in the Education sector.* *...After Primary schools evaluation, scores him 73% .**...Encourages him to continue in his development agenda in the Education sector.*

*National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS)* Enugu state chapter is pleased to inform the general public that  *NANS PRIMARY SCHOOL EVALUATION TOUR* has been successfully concluded. We have painstakingly, through our very resilient team of student leaders traversed the lengths and breadths of Enugu state to every single primary school in the state ensuring detailed  assessment, evaluation and subsequent data reportage while employing an organised  system of documentation  and representation of true facts on ground.

You would recall that  NANS Primary School Evaluation Tour stands as one initiative of the Enugu state leadership of NANS motivated by the begging demands of the *sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4* which aims to _”ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”_. The tour was therefore designed to ascertain the level and extent of work so far done by the Government of Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi through ENSUBEB from 2015 till date, focus government spotlight on areas of need and make recommendations where necessary.

*OUR EVALUATION TEAM*
NANS evaluation team was made up of over a hundred (100) students’ leaders strategically spread across the 17 local government areas with the driving mandate to tour and evaluate all primary schools within each LG.

*ENSUBEB INTERVENTIONS*
During the assessment process, the structural interventions of ENSUBEB  were noted as
■ NEWLY BUILT STRUCTURES (INCLUDING FURNISHING)
■ RENOVATED STRUCTURES (INCLUDING FURNISHINGS) AND
■ ONGOING PROJECTS

*OVERALL DATA*
■ It is on record that there are a total number of 1,485 primary schools in Enugu state spread across 17 Local Governments.
■ After collation of data from the 17 local governments in Enugu state, it has been ascertained that our team visited and evaluated *1,481* primary schools.
■ Out of the total number of schools evaluated, we noticed that 403 were in good condition and needed not the intervention of the current administration. The administration of Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi through the Enugu State Universal Basic Education has intervened in, (constructed, renovated and furnished) *788* primary schools out of 1078 schools in bad condition.
■From our findings, it becomes safe to say that the Government of Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi through ENSUBEB has equitably marshalled state resources to uphold the demands of the SDG 4 by a rating of *73%*.

*EVIDENCE BASED REPORTING*
In the days to follow, the media will be nourished with reports of the true situations of all the evaluated primary schools in the state using on-ground photographs of the school environment and structures. This evidence based reporting has been designed to run in two phases.
■The first phase of this report will comprise only the schools that have witnessed the interventions of ENSUBEB (I.e 73% of the total evaluated schools) and will run one local government at a time
■ The second phase will comprise the primary schools that are yet to enjoy ENSUBEB interventions and also the category of primary schools that demands urgent Government intervention.
We are also going to make available the data of the evaluation in an infographics format to allow the general public appreciate the spread of development in the education sector accross over *400* communities in the *17* LGAs.

Conclusively, the leadership of NANS Enugu is moved to specially commend the efforts and commitment of *His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi* to the education of the people of Enugu state for Education remains the pillars of every civilised society. We are earnestly hopeful that this educational transformation will certainly go round, therefore we wish to seize this opportunity to also encourage His Excellency not to relent in his good works in the educational sector.
