Speaking on behalf of the Team, Cmr. Darlington commended the CP for his leadership style that has brought about proactiveness in the security of lives and property of the good people of the State amid the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic. According to him, "we understand that the Police is another class of vulnerable Nigerians second only to medical workers, who daily risk their lives in the line of duty to contain the spread of the disease. Therefore, our gesture of giving to the Command these Personal Protective Equipment is our own little way of drawing the attention of good-spirited members of society to the urgent need of supporting and providing the Police with PPE so they can also be protected and safe while working to ensure the safety and security of the citizenry".
Responding, the Commissioner of Police, expressed his happiness and gratitude towards the commitment and love the State's NANS has been showing to the Command and the poor masses, especially in this period of hardship, through their humanitarian ventures. The Commissioner described the exercise as "the highest form of philantropy", stressing that NANS, Enugu State is by this gesture, contributing their quota to society out of nothing.
