Today we join the avalanche of Mgbowo Ohaire Voice to celebrate an enigma, a rare gem a crusader and a patriotic philanthropist, the sole sponsor of Mgbowo unity tournament for the past six years, in the person of Prince Dr. Akachukwu Steve Akachukwu (Kpakpando Mgbowo).

Kpakpando Mgbowo is not just a name but a symbol of hope and development in the Mgbowo community. His dedication and commitment to the progress of Mgbowo is truly commendable.

As the sole sponsor of the Mgbowo unity tournament, Kpakpando Mgbowo has brought together the youths of Mgbowo in a spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship. This tournament has not only provided a platform for the talented individuals in Mgbowo to showcase their skills but has also fostered unity and togetherness among the community members.

The people of Mgbowo community and the wider academic, religious, and traditional institutions gathered in solemn unity to pay their final respects to Nze Sir Prof. Anthony Okechukwu Akpa, KSM, whose remarkable life of scholarship, service, and faith left an indelible mark on all who knew him. The burial rites began with a lying-in-state at his mother’s village, Eziobodo Alechara Mgbowo, then proceeded to his father’s compound at Imeama Mgbowo, and finally to his residence at Old Eke Mgbowo Market, Imeama Mgbowo, where friends, family, and associates gathered to view his remains and bid him farewell.
