Southeast Security: Simon Ekpa And The History of Bloodbath In Igboland

It's laughable how Ndigbo are trying to exonerate the people who initiated the current unrest in the South East and lord it entirely over to Barr Simon Ekpa and making it look as if Ebonyi State is fighting the Igboland. This is one of the areas I don't like the character of Ndigbo. Always using a part to judge the whole. Such a bad synecdochal judgement!

Barr Simon Ekpa didn't originate what's happening today in the South East. Odumegwu Ojukwu, Uwazuruike and Nnamdi Kanu did. It's unfair how these three are addressed as heroes, others villains. I'm not on the side of Simon, I'm just trying to be frank with what's happening in the South East. I am a rational thinker about the Biafran philosophy. Simon hasn't done half of what the other three have done. He hasn't said what the other three have said. He's just a rising Biafran struggle celebrity. We must have to view him from this focal point.

The weakness of Ndigbo lies in the Biafran smokescreen. Igbo people have been facing self-sabotage and destruction since 1967 till today in pursuit of a particular dream only members of the street have been fronting and pioneering. Most members of the Igbo elite are indifferent about the struggle all pointing towards political and business interests. They're neither here nor there. If referendum is conducted today, 80% of the elitist Igbo society will default silently.

Leadership of the Biafra struggle will get to all the states of the South East before we can now advise ourselves on the right thing to do to stop the carnage we're meting out to ourselves. Anambra has taken its turn through Ojukwu. Imo has taken its turn through Uwazurike. Abia has taken its own through Nnamdi Kanu. Ebonyi is currently taking its own through Barr Simon Ekpa who was also a military man like Ojukwu, but much younger to the extent that he's not up to 40 years old today. After Ebonyi, Enugu will take its own turn. Ojukwu's has remained the most lethal. It means that Anambra has spilled more b.lood. Uwazuruike follows. Kanu as well. Ekpa's is only sit-at-home and a pocket of ki.llings. Who knows what Enugu is going to come up with in the future.

I was in contact with Barr Simon Ekpa. He invited me to Finland one certain time as the Chairman of Ohaneze Ndigbo in Finland. He invited me to come eat yam with him. I couldn't make it. I had exam in school. He sent me some money at a different time. He wasn't doing Biafra things at that time. I was shocked seeing him so sunken in the struggle later. We were in talks that time, of course as my brother and someone who liked my own sociopolitical activism in Ebonyi State. He was also into that at the same time with me. We had discussions on how to fix Ebonyi in the future. I was planning to visit him in Finland until the Kanu saga arose. Since Nnamdi Kanu initiated him into Biafra struggle, I exeunted myself. I have not spoken with him for two years now. It's here pertinent to say that it was Nnamdi Kanu that created the Ekpa conundrum. Every master prays that his servant outgrows him. That's the reality surrounding the Ekpa conundrum. He has to be as popular as the other three. What I guess he's doing now is to position himself as the fourth headache disturbing Igboland since the creation of man. The Simon I know has not even started. He'll teach Ndigbo a lesson. After his reign, we'll learn not to be emotional again over things that concern life and freedom. Federal Government is enjoying our sadness, that's why it'll not wade into action. It's just like expecting America, UK and other extortionate partners to have a good leader emerging in Nigeria. You know it'll not work. Their extortionate interest in Nigeria will be cut short.

Since we have now agreed to be casting aspersions on where one is from in Igboland, it's here germane to say that Anambra initiated the suffering of the Igboland, today. The same Anambra is doing everything possible to nail Ebonyi State over the unilateral machinations of its diaspora-bound son. War isn't what you dare unprepared. Anambra misled us. And this is why the ugly toll is mounting highest on the state. Imo was at the time the second- in-command which birthed the Uwazuruike mercantile struggle. Today, Imo is tired of crying.

You can't praise Ojukwu and asperse either Kanu or Ekpa. They're fighting the same cause. Let's stay put and expect the last tranche of the conundrum from Enugu. After that, we'll now come together and ask ourselves why Igbo politicians are not developing the Igbo environment like other zones. We'll now come together and ask ourselves why we're partitioning Igboland along refulgent line of singling out some parts and denigrating them. After this, we'll choose from the available gods the one to give our obeisance to!
