A Technical Assistant to the Executive Governor of Enugu state picks a bull by the horn as he offers scholarship to students in his LG council during his Birthday celebration in Aninri LG.

_...Say's - Grassroot is the best,_

_...Gov. Ugwuanyi should be emulated:_

*By - Hon. Prince Ekene Nwanjoku.*

Grassroot political movements is the one which uses the people in any given district or geographic location. It is usually associated with the bottom-up rather than the top-down process.

Grassroot mobilization have over time become the key element of all successful political campaign strategies.

Considering the words of Allan Rosenblatt of George Washington University Graduate School of political Management; "Grassroot movements are usually not all about money it is more than that, it is about volunteers".

The grassroot is now a very popular term which comes up a lot these days in reference to political campaigns, but does political candidates and election contestants know what it actually meant?

The purest grassroot movement must always emerge from the local levels. When people begin to organize themselves due to the need to address/correct something from going out of hand, and then boom, it becomes a widespread grassroots movement and thus spreads.

Every politician loves to claim that they are Grassroot because it allows them to claim a mandate from the people. Because it implies that there is an unstoppable Force of the people who have risen up to Support a particular candidacy.

A true and genuinely sincere grassroot movement is the one in which the people of a given society believe in and does not require nor demand to be paid before they can give it their total support. This is usually because it is out of their sacred convictions and that is the proper association or movement to propagate a good Cause for the benefit of their Society.

In Nigeria, you will notice that on the election day, the biggest and smallest politicians return home to their various localities or Wards to cast their vote. This goes to say that the popularity of every politician is tested on the bare furnace of the grassroot acceptance and periscope.

Any politician who understands the import of grassroot movement does not dare to make election promise which he/she is not ready to redeem when eventually elected into power. This is because the grassroot is where the true political power reside.

Here in Enugu state:

Gov. Ugwuanyi stands the taste of time by defining what grassroot is all about through his God given leadership, good governance policy/initiative in all the political wards of Enugu State, which is the best and unique among others and should be emulated 100%.

One of the resolutions reached during the international Youth day celebration by the United Nations is that for as long as humans are willing to come together with a unified purpose, the power to push for and drive the desired change will ARISE.

There are uncountable number of Grassroot movements with unity of purpose. Such as the ANINRI YOUTHS ARISE (AYA) and the ENUGU WEST GENERAL ASSEMBLY (EWGA) whose sole unity of purpose is identifying and promotion of everything that has to do with leadership.

On this auspicious occasion of my birthday, I hereby seize this moment to appreciate the wonderful theme of this year's edition of the International Youth day celebration which is "ENGAGING THE YOUTHS FOR A GLOBAL IMPACT" which has also made me to seize my one month salary and give a cheque of twenty thousand naira scholarship each to five notable youths of Aninri in order to ease off their school fees.

The grassroots remains the best launch pad for engagement towards democratic and political accountability and advocacy mechanism to check mate repulsive Representation in governance and leadership drab.

The grassroot movements remains the best and efficient medium for good leadership alerts. And for the bottom-up solid rock resistance of tyranny as well as digressional tactics of corrupt Representation in governance.

Permit me at this juncture, to also seize this medium to thank in a Special way, the Executive Governor of Enugu state, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi (GburuGburu of Africa),

My second father and my Political Godfather,
